DEXA technology provides a solution to cheap, reliable green electricity from ocean waves.

[Download a movie about DEXA Wave Energy...]

It's a simple construction and consists of two rigid pontoons, hinged together in the center, which allows one pontoon to pivot in relation to the other. In between is placed a power takeoff system, based on Aquagear, a low pressure power transmission technology, based on water. The unique technical advantages to the DEXA converter are numerous:

DEXA Unique Features:
Independent of tidal shift.
Insensitive to floating debris in the ocean.
Insensitive to marine growth.
Excellent survival in severe storms.
Very high corrosion resistance.
Very low maintenance requirements.
Long Service Life.
Simple Installation.
The power station can easily be moved to alternate positions.
No hazardous areas or materials.
No negative environment footprint.
Low price.
Good Stable electricity quality.
Power on Demand technology.

The time for wave energy is now.

The DEXA can produce electricity at almost the same price level as Coal, Natural Gas, Onshore Windturbine etc. This is realised by use of low cost materials with long life expectancy, and low maintenance requirement (mainly concrete).

Wave Tank Test at Aalborg University.
[Click here] to see videoclip [5mb].

Performed during Dec. 2007.

The following tests were performed on the model:

Power Curve (For normal, long and very long waves).
Irregular Wave Climate.
Surface coupling efficiency.
Power vs. Gearing.
Power vs. Ballast.
Wave Capture Width.

Will a DEXA wavepark disrupt the view of the ocean?

A 5km offshore DEXA wavepark would look like this, seen from the shoreline.
